TUCKERTON – On Tuesday September 27th, voters approved a school bond referendum in a 206 – 185 vote, according to preliminary results released by the Ocean County Clerk’s Office.

The proposal, now approved after a special election, will allow the school district to renovate the borough’s elementary school, to include increased accomodations for handicapped students, parking, playground and administrative office improvements.

School district officials said  that the average impact to Tuckerton taxpayers (with a home assessed at $200,000) would be approximately $68 per year.
