JACKSON – The township council is expected to hire former Ocean County Superior Court judge Melanie Donohue Appleby as the township’s new labor attorney for the year 2017, according to a resolution posted on the township website.
Melanie Donohue Appleby, who retired from her position as a superior court judge following a career mired by ethical issues, is set to be appointed as Jackson Township’s new labor attorney at the council’s annual reorganization meeting scheduled for this week.
Before being nominated to the bench by Governor Chris Christie, Appleby was an associate at the law firm of Ocean County Republican Chairman George Gilmore, Gilmore & Monahan.
Following her departure from the bench, Appleby is now practicing on her own.
The council will hold their annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday January 3rd, 2016 at 7:00PM.
