Toms River GOP Shakeup: Juan Bellu Calls it Quits
TOMS RIVER – The Toms River Republican Club’s chairman of the board of trustees, Juan Bellu, is stepping down from his club leadership position, according to TRGOP sources familiar with the move.
According to a Republican Club source that saw Bellu’s email to club membership , Bellu is said to have cited family and business issues as reasons for vacating his club leadership position. Bellu, a resident of Seaside Park, is often seen on ELEC filings as managing the financial affairs of Republican political campaigns in the township along with business partner Carmen Memoli.
Bellu’s resignation has been seen by area Republicans as a victory for the faction of the club led by current TRGOP president Robert DiBiase. A decision has yet to be made on who will replace Bellu on the club’s board of trustees.
