TOMS RIVER – 9th District Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf has been hired at the Ocean County Health Department earlier in January, public records showed.
Assemblyman Rumpf has obtained a six-figure position as the Ocean County Health Department’s new director of administration and program development, according to documents made public Thursday.
Rumpf, an attorney and former Little Egg Harbor mayor, will earn a base salary of $139,500.00 in his new role at the Ocean County Health Department, according to employee payroll records obtained Thursday. The 9th district assemblyman also receives a state salary for his part-time role as a state assemblyman.
In response to an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) request, the Ocean County Health Department provided a list of all employees on the current payroll, which can be accessed through the OPRAmachine government transparency portal.
That payroll record sheet disclosed Rumpf’s hiring, which was effective January 3rd, 2018:
A Health Department insider who first informed us of the hiring said that Rumpf’s hiring received support from Senator Bob Singer (R – Island Heights), who is a member of the Ocean County Board of Health, which oversees the department, along with Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore.
