FORKED RIVER – The Lacey Township Republican Club had its annual picnic this Sunday at Gille Park in the township.
Lacey Committeeman Gary Quinn (R – Forked River) was recently selected by county Republican leadership to fill the seat of Freeholder John Bartlett on the county freeholder board. Bartlett, who was the longest serving county freeholder in the state, withdrew from the race, citing worsening health conditions.
The southern Ocean County town has remained solidly Republican over the years, with the Lacey GOP maintaining 1-party control of the township’s governing body, making Republican politics quite influential in the municipality.
In addition to Quinn, current and former Lacey Township, Lacey GOP and Ocean County officials & political leaders were seen attending the event.
Brick Councilman Jim Fozman (R – Brick), who recently left the Democrats, was also seen at the event with his wife Vera.
